Projects Update

unfettered-2ndeditionHi Everyone,

I’ve been receiving a lot of emails recently asking for updates for the various Grim Oak Press projects. Understandable since several of them are overdue. The information is here:

  • The Twilight Dragon by Shawn Speakman
The books should arrive any day now from the printer. Shipment will commence immediately.
  • Unfettered (Second Edition)
The files are about to go to the printer. As is the case with the printer’s schedule, it will be six to eight weeks for the printer to ship the books to me. Shipment will commence immediately afterward.
  • The Unremembered by Peter Orullian
When the cover artist delivered his work very late, Peter and I thought it important to give you guys something extra for your patience. He is writing a new short story for the beginning of the book. This delays the book a bit more but not by much and it gives you guys something unique.
  • The S&N of Unbound
The signature pages are still being signed by the contributors. Mark Lawrence, Anthony Ryan, David Anthony Durham, Delilah Dawson, and Michael Sullivan have signed them. Brian Staveley has them now. Many signatures to get before the book can go to the printer. The good news is this: six or seven of the authors live in Seattle, making the signing of those pages quickly done. No estimate of when this will be done but I am hoping by July.
  • The Broken Empire by Mark Lawrence
Artist Jason Chan has completed his interior illustrations and Nate Taylor has finished his graphic design work on the book. The signature pages for the book are on their way to Mark for signing. Then Jason and Nate have to sign them. Once that’s done, the book can go the printer. Since it takes six to eight weeks for a book to be printed, I am betting we get these copies in early Summer, probably early July.
  • The Sword of Shannara by Terry Brooks
Artist Marc Simonetti is painting the interior pieces right now and is on schedule. The book will publish September 2016 if there are no setbacks.

I hope this helps clarify what is currently going on. And as always, when your order ships you will receive an email with tracking number for your convenience!

Hope you are reading something great!

Shawn

  1. Is there anything to differentiate the lettered edition from the limited other than the limitation page? remarque, additional artwork, etc.?

    • The things the Lettered Edition that the Limited Edition does not:

      – a leather slip case
      – an interior full color page by Marc Simonetti
      – a dust jacket featuring a double-page full color piece of artwork with no writing/letters/titles on it
