Murderbot Lottery Entry & Dragonsbane

Murderbot Lottery Entry & Dragonsbane

Hi Grim Oakers,

Happy Monday! I hope this week is a great one for all of you.

I am in the midst of shipping out books for my customers over on The Signed Page. It's a huge effort but I'm nearing the end. Which now allows me to share some cool Grim Oak news and get back to my writing.

First up, The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells. Subterranean Press made an excellent decision producing this amazing series. And not only that, they chose Tommy Arnold for art duties. Talk about a trifecta of talent coming together to produce one beautiful book. Of course it was going to sell out!

Sub Press has been great to Grim Oak. They partner with us and, in this case, they sold us 23 copies of The Murderbot Diaries. These copies are coveted. So to be fair to everyone, we will conduct one of our Grim Oak Lotteries.

Here is a list of the winning lottery names:

  • Kristen Van Damn
  • Timothy Bedwell
  • Kristina Mvallmann
  • Douglas Hurlbut
  • Marisela Dangcil
  • Tyler Trent
  • Dan Flowers
  • Brian Melgar
  • Fazia Rizvi
  • Carola van der Drift
  • Steven A. Showfer
  • David Tai
  • Emmet Asher-Perrin
  • Sonja Thiede
  • Heather Joyner
  • Daphne Tonge
  • Caroline Perny
  • Pamela Pena
  • Kevin Kallisto Conner
  • Howard To
  • Liane T. Rice
  • Jake Haney
  • Josiah Jackson

Becky will be reaching out to you about how to buy your copy of The Murderbot Diaries!

Now, on to Dragonsbane. Copies of Dragonsbane have arrived. We encountered two issues with the book. The first? The Michael Whelan art didn't fit exactly with our dust jacket template. So the art doesn't push to the spine. Not a huge issue but one I thought we'd share so it doesn't catch you off guard. Second, due to a miscommunication on my part with the printer, we had 500 signature pages triple-signed by Barbara Hambly, Michael Whelan, and Brandon Sanderson, but I accidentally ordered 750 books. That means we are receiving 250 unsigned books that are identical to the limited edition but simply not signed. Perfect reading copies or for those of you who love strange oddities. We will be offering these rather cool copies on the website on April 1st for $35. So many of you see Brandon on tour that you'll likely be able to get that book signed later.

And lastly, a request from Becky. If you have moved since you placed your order for Dragonsbane, please let Becky know your new address at contact@grimoakpress.com. That will help us get you your book!

Okay, back to work for me. Yay... more book shipping! A good problem to have.
