Newsletter: Dead Until Dark & Upcoming Project Dates

Hi Grim Oakers,

A lot of awesome things happening at Grim Oak Press right now. Secrets are gathering like the water of a vast mountain lake—deep and dark and mysterious. We are so excited. More details coming soon.

Meanwhile, today's blog/newsletter has its own revelations and is specifically addressing a date change as well as a few other upcoming important dates you will want to mark on your calendar.

First, the remaining copies of Unbound II Limited Edition not purchased and matched by owners of Unbound LE will be put up for sale on the website on Friday, October 13th at 11AM PT. Owners of Unbound II LE will have the right of first refusal for Unbound III LE, which is already shaping up to be the best anthology of the three.

Second, we are in the process of wrapping up Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris. Stacie Pitt—once apprenticed to artist Todd Lockwood—has done an incredible job capturing Sookie's first story. The book will have a full-color signature page and five full-color interiors. All the usual Grim Oak accoutrements. Copies will be available for pre-order on October 18th at 11AM PT. Only 500 copies of the $200 limited edition, which means this will probably sell out immediately like Storm Front by Jim Butcher.

And finally, putting Dead Until Dark into our schedule has made us realize we should delay the pre-order date for The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune by two weeks to help your wallet. This wonderful story will now be a beautiful Grim Oak book and I can't wait to hold it in my greedy hands. It's gonna be something special. It will go on sale November 15th at 11AM PT.

On the shipping side of things, Becky will complete the shipping of Dragonquest by Anne McCaffrey by next week's end. This is what our current shipping schedule looks to be in the coming months:

That's it for now. We are planning a week coming up where every day we will make a major project announcement. It's going to be a fun time where I'll conduct Facebook Live events to answer questions and just revel with all of you about our schedule for early 2024! Be on the look out for that.

Hope you are reading something great! I'm currently reading an almost-final draft of a book on most people's most-anticipated book lists. No, not a book by George or Pat or Scott. I'll share when I can!

With Magic,

Shawn Speakman
