Hi Everyone,
A while back, I held a poll about Malice by John Gwynne and asked which kind of edition you'd want on your shelves -- a $150 B&W Limited Edition or a B&W $500 Lettered Edition. Over 1200 people voted, which gave us great feedback on how many to produce.
I've been seeking a great interior artist since that poll occurred and it has been hard going. I want the right fit. Sometimes the right artist is available right when I need them; sometimes it is a fight finding the right person. And as the Creative Director of Grim Oak, I don't begin a project until I'm 100% happy. Because in my experience, if I'm happy you'll be happy.
Well, last week the right artist sent me an email sharing his portfolio. I loved his work. And when I wrote him back asking what his dream SF&F projects would be, he mentioned John Gwynne's novels.
That brings me to today. The artist would love to paint full-color interiors. But in that earlier poll, I mentioned we'd be doing black and white interiors. Since I don't want to be a liar and/or mislead people, I figured I'd hold another poll with the options of how we can produce the very best Malice possible: A full-color version at $200 or a black and white version at $150.
Vote below. Be heard! And this will help us decide.
Happy Monday!
