Wizard of the Pigeons by Megan Lindholm is now available for pre-order!
It is one of my favorite books. Wizard of the Pigeons is a deftly written classic by a master of her craft, a powerful urban fantasy originally published before urban fantasy became a bestselling genre. It is much more than that though. The book centers on a character named Wizard, a homeless Seattle man suffering from PTSD, a veteran who has forgotten the atrocities of his wartime past—a past still living with him and one that endangers the entire city.
On a personal level, it echoes the plight of my veteran father, who suffered with severe PTSD for decades after his stint in Vietnam. Wizard of the Pigeons made me understand him better. I knew I wanted to produce limited and lettered editions of it. But when I learned rights were available for a wider release, I jumped at the chance. This is a book that deserves to never go out of print.
And in publishing it, Grim Oak Press will donate 5% of profits to the National Veterans Foundation. Your order will help improve the lives of veterans and their families.
Here are the editions you can order for Wizard of the Pigeons:
- $9.99 Ebook (Amazon, B&N, Kobo)
- $400 Lettered Edition
- $125 Limited Edition (don't forget to order the slipcase too on the same receipt!)

Hugo Award finalist Tommy Arnold is producing new artwork for these editions. The trade hardcover and ebook editions will have black and white interior art. The limited and lettered editions will feature full-color illustrations! This is a departure for Grim Oak Press but we're excited to offer full-color illustrations on Wizard of the Pigeons as well as in our future urban fantasy releases like Storm Front by Jim Butcher and three more titles we can't announce yet. You will definitely want to collect all of these beautiful books.
And as usual, if you have ordered from us before, we will do our best to match your letter or number with your previously-ordered lettered and limited editions.
If you have any questions, do let us know. We are here for you. And thank you for continuing to support Grim Oak!
