I count Brandon Sanderson a friend. And one of my favorite authors.
I know I'm not alone. I loved Mistborn when it published and when Brandon was tapped to finish the Wheel of Time series, I knew he would do Robert Jordan's world justice even as it vaulted Brandon into the stars. It did just that.
And thankfully, he has not squandered that chance, writing numerous books, novellas, and short stories for all of us to enjoy. He was also one of the first people to support me in Unfettered. He fought to include what has been the final Wheel of Time piece of fiction ever published. For helping me when I needed it, I count him a friend. So when Brandon visited Seattle earlier this month for Emerald City Comic Con, I knew that I'd visit his Spotlight Panel. Spotlights are great because you get the author — one-on-one as it were — for an entire hour and you never know what they are going to say.
To bring that panel to all of you who couldn't attend ECCC, Jeff and I videotaped it. It is featured below, which includes a Q&A as well as Brandon reading the forthcoming new Legion novella.
Be sure to support Brandon's work. If you haven't, read Mistborn or The Way of Kings. Great works of fantasy for every reader! I doubt you will be disappointed.
And maybe, just maybe, we might have some Brandon Sanderson Grim Oak Press news soon concerning the novel that made him a fantasy fan decades ago...
