Grim Oak Press Invades Emerald City Comic Con

Grim Oak Press Invades Emerald City Comic Con

Hi Grim Oakers,

This week, Grim Oak Press is exhibiting at Emerald City Comic Con!

This is going to be great fun. While we had a booth at Dragonsteel Con in November and enjoyed going, ECCC is a much larger venue. We've taken what we learned and hopefully upgraded our presentation. And Jeff, Becky, and I have some exciting things planned for those who stop by Booth #20305 (next door to artist Todd Lockwood)!

First, for those who come to our booth and give us their email for our newsletter, we will give them a black Grim Oak tote bag with a 48-page chapbook of The Briar-Sword Monk by Shawn Speakman. That's not all. We will also include three 7"x10" limited edition colossal cards in the tote featuring artwork by Lixin Yin (Warrior by Terry Brooks), Allen Williams (The Desert Spear by Peter V. Brett), and Nate Taylor (The Narrow Road Between Desires by Patrick Rothfuss). Only 500 of each card will ever be produced.

Second, for those of you who like signed books and colossal cards, the Grim Oak Booth will also host a few signings. Here is the schedule:

  • TERRY BROOKS: Friday at 11AM
  • NATE TAYLOR: Friday at 3PM
  • SHAWN SPEAKMAN: Every day at 2PM

This would be a great way to meet these people and have them sign your colossal cards and books. There is also a chance Robin Hobb and Peter V. Brett may join us, though neither are confirmed. Fingers crossed we can make that happen.

Thirdly, while we are not selling at the convention, we will be bringing fine examples of our books that you can view, pick up, open, page through, etc. Want to see the differences between our limited, lettered, and rare editions? Want to feel the genuine leather on a Grim Oak rare edition? This is a great way to do that.

And finally, the Grim Oak warehouse will be closed this week since we will be at ECCC. Orders will ship the following week.

We hope to see some of you at ECCC! And if this does well, maybe we will come to a convention nearer you soon!

With Emerald Magic,

Shawn Speakman
